Independence Day Paisley!

Living with sight loss is difficult at the best of times but we thought we would try and help make life just that little bit easier through the use of technology.

So why not come along to a free event on 24th May in Paisley to find out about technology that can make you more independent. SITE Scotland, Humanware and Sight and Sound Technology will be demonstrating and exhibiting products that impact positively on the lives of those of us with sight loss – and we at SITE are inviting you to attend this free event to be held at the Disability Resource Centre, 74 Love Street, Paisley PA3 2ES commencing 10:00.

Photo shows John from SITE in the centre with the Lucy from Humanware on the right and Ruth from sight and Sound Technology on the left. John is wearing a cowboy hat and the lady's are holding an American flag. There is a lot of tech in the table in front.

This event has something for everyone including those new to technology, those who want to see how technology can make you more independent, those in employment, employers, those involved in accessibility and students. The SITE Team will demonstrate accessible tech such as iPads, Amazon Kindle, MacBooks, Windows laptops and the Amazon Dot – so come along and say hello to SIRI, Alexa and Cortana!

Find out from Ruth, Sight Sound Technologies about portable solutions, from magnification to scanning solutions such as the Blaze EZ, Ruby video magnifiers, Focus Blue 14, EyePal Ace and Orcam.

Lucy from HumanWare will be talking about the BrailleNote Touch and also the Prodigi Connect 12. The Prodigi Connect 12 is a 12″ tablet in a specially designed stand, which provides magnification and speech for both hard copy and electronic text.  Lucy will also have the Explore range of portable electronic magnifiers for people to try out.

We look forward to meeting you at the Disability Resource Centre on 24 May.
