Be Independent On Independence Day

Living with sight loss is difficult at the best of times so at SITE we thought we would try and help make life just that little bit easier through the use of technology – and at the same time celebrate Independence Day.
On July 4th we have asked some of our friends in the assistive technology sector to show us how they support those with sight loss to lead more independent lives.  Humanware and Sight and Sound Technology will be demonstrating and exhibiting products that impact positively on the lives of those affected by sight loss – and we are inviting you to attend this free event to be held at our office in Glasgow.  The day will commence with presentations by Lucy from HumanWare and Ruth from Sight and Sound Technology. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to ask questions and try out the equipment on display.  SITE will also be in attendance and launching our Summer training programme that will bring you professional training from a sight loss perspective.
This event has something for everyone including those new to technology, those who want to see how technology can make them more independent, those in employment, employers, those involved in accessibility and students.  You can come along for all of the events or drop in at a time that suits – you can even pop in for lunch at The Oasis Cafe who are also celebrating Independence Day with an American themed lunch.
