New care home opening in October 2017

Jenny’s Well is a new care home in Paisley, Renfrewshire, that is currently being constructed by Scottish charity Royal Blind. Jenny’s Well will offer nursing care to older people with visual impairment, including those that may have other medical needs such as dementia. 

Jenny’s Well will welcome residents who are funded privately as well as through social care. All residents will receive the same high standard of expert care and accommodation. 

A care home for visually impaired older people

Residents at Jenny’s Well need to be registered blind, be partially sighted or have a visual impairment that significantly impacts on their independence. This could include sight conditions such as:

  • Macular degeneration
  • Glaucoma
  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Cataracts
  • Stroke related visual impairment.

Specially trained staff

Our staff will all be fully trained in working with visually impaired people as well as dealing with complex care issues including dementia. We offer excellent terms and conditions with salaries at the Living Wage so that we can attract attract experienced, quality people and have a high staff retention.

The staff will be expertly led by Morag Francis, our Older People’s Services Manager, who has 24 years of experience working for Royal Blind care homes. Most recently Morag was Manager at our Edinburgh care home, Braeside House. Morag will ensure that our experience of running Braeside House and Royal Blind’s ethos are embedded into running our new care home, Jenny’s Well. 


Registrations will open in June 2017 for residents that require a place from October.
