Event Description:
Join us on Saturday 27 January for a descriptive tour and practical workshop for our blind and visually impaired visitors as part of our current exhibition John Akomfrah, Vertigo Sea.
Featuring two remarkable film and sound installations by the acclaimed artist John Akomfrah, the exhibition creates a powerful vision of global diaspora, expansive historical narratives and lamentations on individual mortality.
Participants will be taken on a guided tour of the exhibition led by Juliana Capes before a chance to discuss and respond to the themes in a workshop after lunch.
Timetable for the day’s activities:
10.00 am – Meet at the Gallery.
10.30 am – Descriptive tour of the exhibition
12.00 pm – Lunch ‚Äď this will be provided by the Gallery.
1.00 pm – Workshop
3.00 pm – End of day
General Information:
Hearing Loop: Portable loop equipment will be available.
Meeting Point: Drop off and meeting point is at Talbot Rice Gallery entrance on West College Street. Please let us know if you would like a member of staff to meet you there or if there is any other specific support you require.
